Cleaner Floors. Better Business.

The answer depends on traffic levels, maintenance practices, and the condition of the existing floor finish.

In schools, healthcare facilities, and high-traffic commercial buildings, VCT floors typically benefit from periodic scrub-and-recoat services throughout the year and a full strip and wax when the finish becomes excessively worn or difficult to restore.

Regular maintenance can significantly extend the life of both the floor finish and the flooring itself while helping maintain a clean, professional appearance.

A scrub and recoat removes surface contaminants and applies fresh floor finish over the existing coating. It is generally less expensive and less disruptive than a full strip and wax.

A strip and wax completely removes existing floor finish before new coats are applied.

If the finish has become heavily scratched, discolored, or built up over time, a full strip and wax may be necessary. If the finish is still in relatively good condition, a scrub and recoat can often restore appearance and extend the life of the floor at a lower cost.

Most commercial carpets are dry enough for light foot traffic within a few hours, though drying times vary depending on carpet type, humidity, airflow, and cleaning method.

Proper extraction equipment removes the majority of moisture during the cleaning process, allowing businesses to return to normal operations as quickly as possible.

For occupied facilities, cleaning can often be scheduled during evenings, weekends, or other low-traffic periods to minimize disruption.
